FCNB is responsible for enforcing the Pension Benefits Act  the Nursing Homes Pension Plans Act, and their Regulations.  They are designed to protect the interests of New Brunswick pension plan members by setting minimum standards for New Brunswick pension plans.
Private sector pension plans are an important source of retirement income for employees. These plans supplement the Federal government’s public pension plans like the
Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Old Age Security program (OAS).
If you have questions about your rights and responsibilities, talk to your employer or pension plan administrator.

Some employers sponsor a group registered retirement savings plan (group RRSP) instead of a pension plan.  For more information about RRSPs, visit the
Canada Revenue Agency.
