About the Commission
The Financial and Consumer Services Commission of New Brunswick is New Brunswick’s financial market authority. We believe in a strong and fair financial marketplace for all, and we aim to achieve this through regulation, education and enforcement. We inform, educate, and protect more than 870,000 New Brunswickers. We supervise more than 50,000 companies and professionals who make their living working with New Brunswickers’ money to ensure they meet standards for knowledge, integrity and business practices.
As the province’s financial and consumer services regulator, we are responsible for the administration and enforcement of provincial legislation that regulates securities, insurance, pensions, consumer protection, credit unions, trust and loan companies, cooperatives, and more. We promote understanding of our regulated sectors through our website and through our consumer education program, Finfo. We also operate New Brunswick’s Unclaimed Property Program, FundsFinderNB.
