Direct Sellers

Overview

The Commission administers the Direct Sellers Act through regulation, oversight, and licensing of every company or individual who engages in direct selling in New Brunswick.

Direct selling includes door-to-door sales and home party sales. Direct sales vendors and salespeople are required, with some exceptions, to be licensed and bonded under the Direct Sellers Act and carry their license with them when conducting business.

Consumer Protection

We ensure direct sellers are licensed and comply with the law. Before working with a door-to-door salesperson, check if they are licensed with the Commission.

What we can do:

  • license and regulated direct sales vendors and salespeople
  • investigate complaints related to direct sales vendors or salespeople
  • take enforcement action

What we cannot do:

  • set prices or product terms
  • guarantee product quality
  • seek compensation on your behalf
  • resolve individual disputes
