Regulatory Advisory Committees

The Commission is committed to open and transparent engagement with the sectors we regulate and oversee. Consultation with these stakeholders plays an important role in our regulatory process.

The Commission convenes regulatory advisory panels to support our regulatory work with insights, perspectives and feedback from our regulated sectors and to promote transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in our policy-making and regulatory efforts.
We welcome members of our regulated sectors to share their insights on regulatory projects and emerging issues through participation on advisory panels, including:

  • Industry roundtables: Forums for leaders in regulated sectors to share their perspectives on emerging or strategic issues that impact the industry.
  • Technical working groups: Committees tasked with identifying and providing feedback on outcomes of a proposed or planned regulatory initiative. We strike these as needed and invite external subject matter experts to participate.
  • Focus groups: Moderator-led consultation groups used to gather industry feedback and insights on specific projects that are small or have a short duration. We strike these as needed to seek opinions, attitudes and reactions on issues of interest to the Commission’s work.

These committees are advisory in nature. The Commission will consider all input received; however, the input received may or may not result in action or policy change on the part of the Commission.
