Consumer Affairs Bulletin 2021-01: Mortgage Brokers Act - 2021 Mandatory Continuing Education

The Director of Mortgage Brokers has approved a mandatory 2021 New Brunswick Continuing Education Course for all Mortgage Brokers and Associates.  The education will be available online on 5 February 2021. 

Current and new licence holders under the Mortgage Brokers Act are advised of the following:
 

Course Material The Continuing Education course is available online. The approved education provider is Mortgage Professionals Canada (MPC). Details and a link to the course can be found on the MPC website
Licence Holders All licensed Associates and Brokers must complete the 2021 New Brunswick Continuing Education Course on or before March 31st. 
 
Brokers and Associates who fail to complete and report their continuing education on or before 31 March 2021 will have their licence automatically suspended pursuant to paragraph 18(3)(d) of the Act until the required continuing education is completed. 
New Applicants

Any applicant seeking a licence on or after 5 February 2021, must complete the Continuing Education Course within three (3) months from the date their licence is issued.  

Any new licence holder who fails to complete and report their continuing education within three (3) months of licence issuance will have their licence automatically suspended pursuant to paragraph 18(3)(d) of the Act until the required continuing education is completed.

Course Completion Once you have completed the continuing education program you will need to email your certificate of completion to mortgage.licensing@fcnb.ca.
